Dear Lowlanders,

My apologies for having started March yesterday already.  My watch had
erroneously shown "March 1," and it was not before early afternoon that I
finally realize it was February 29.  Duh!  So I'll just continue with March
today.  The messages will be properly dated and sorted in our archive
(http://listserv.linguistlist.org/archives/lowlands-l.html).

Now that I have your attention I want to remind you of two things that have
come up several times lately.

(1)  You may not post anonymously or semi-anonymously.  In other words, we
need to know who you are when you post to Lowlands-L.  Your personal name and
your family name must both appear somewhere in your posting or in the header,
even if they don't appear together.

(2)  Those of you who post rarely or are thinking of posting for the first
time need to bear in mind that, when you reply to someone else's posting and
hit the reply button, you must edit out from the quoted message everything
that is not essential.  The Lowlands-L masthead and footer must definitely be
removed.  In other words, don't just hit the reply button and then write your
own message before or after it.  I will return such a submission to you with a
standard request for editing and resubmission.
