Subject: Events
1. The political presence of Brabant West of the river Rhine may explain
the
"cultural presence" (cf. book printing) of some lowland culture in the
Cologne area up to the end of the 18th century.
Today I got an invitation sent by someone from within Spain about an event
in the Netherlands:
(quote:)
Director: Ptof. Dr. Hugo de Schepper
Co-Director. Prof. Dr. Antonio Luis Cortés Peña (Universidad de Granada)
(end quote)
Kerpen is just West of Cologne; Lommersum is just West of Bonn.
Unfortunately the invitation doesn't mention the hour.
2. Learn Yiddish downtown Antwerp
(quote from the "Belgisch Israelitisch Weekblad" of Oct. 13:)
maandag 16 october. Niveau I van 12.30 tot 13.45 uur en niveau II van 13.45
tot 15 uur.
(endquote)
3. Promotion of Dutch in the Antwerp Jewish community.
(quote from the "Belgisch Israelitisch Weekblad" of Oct. 13:)
(endquote)
4. Scandinavian culture in Antwerp is most visible in November through the
christmas fairs of the Finnish, Norvegian, Danish and Swedish churches.
Here is how it sounds in Swedish:
(quote from Kyrkobladet, Antwerpen, Sept. 2000:)
(end quote)
Regards,
Roger
