Dear Lowlanders,

A number of new subscribers have joined us recently, from places such as
Belgium, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Scotland, South Africa, USA, and three
"new" countries: Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.  Welcome to all!
This is a good time to draw everyone's attention to the rules of Lowlands-L:

Please familiarize yourselves with them, and check them if in doubt.  The URL
appears in the masthead of each and every issue.  Usually I am forgiving and
let certain things slide once or twice.  However, I can be pretty hard-nosed
