Hi all

Re to what Ron wrote Pat, re. "kolonie", I remember my grandparents
(and mother) still referring to the Cape Province as 'Kolonie'.

And en passant, in Afrikaans folk etymology "eau de cologne"
became "olie kolonie", presumably the stuff that the grand ladies
of the Cape reeked of...
