Subject: Language varieties
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone might be able to help out with a general question?
I am very new to the list and apologize if the following does not apply.
I am wondering if any work has been done of the Low-Rhein dialects of the
Krefeld area of Germany, particularly the Low-German of Viersen and
Süchteln. I lived there a few years and tried to acquire anything available
on these particular dialects, but not much was out there at the time. I
believe this particular dialect is akin to other low-Saxon dialects spoken
more to the north in Germany. A few examples are the word "bön" and "ös" for
"bin" and "ist".
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Mike Szelog
