Hello Lowlanders,

Thanks very much Reinhard, R. Wickham, and E. Neufeld for the information!!
I'll certainly check out those sites.

I'm sure the instrument must still be known amongst folk-musicians in this
area - it's almost too versatile an instrument not to surface in some
folk-tradition or another in the Lowlands! I am particularly curious to know
how the Lowlands version is tuned and if it is more like the German
Scheitholz as far as number of strings (the Scheitholz is perhaps the
closest version to the Mountain Dulcimer).
