I believe it's a part of the 'learning by heart principle' as far as
prepositions are concerned.... sorry that I don't have any 'quick guide'
but
based on my own experience in Germanic languages, I have not cracked the
'preposition code'. I have found problems (sometimes) between the
closely
related languages Norwegian and Swedish (of which I am second-language
speaker of one and 'immigrant speaker' of the other). There is
definitely a
logic in the system, but it depends on the language one is speaking (cf.
Whorf/Sapir hypothesis)Any comments?
