I've heard the [stra:n] - 'straan' - pronunciation in Scotland as well,

whereas I've never heard non - 'sh' pronunciations of Murdoch or
Buchanan.
Compare the different spellings and pronunciations of Dalziel and
presumably
Coulthard/Coulter.
