In Zeelandic (or at least most Zeelandic dialects), _duumpje_ is the
word
for 'wren'. It literally means 'little thumb' and refers to the tail of
the
wren, that points up in a rather sharp angle ('thumbs up!').
A _duum_ or _duumpje_ in Zeelandic can also mean a metal hook where you
can
hang things on. And it's also the (old) name for the metal pen where the
hinge of a door hangs in. Note that the Zeelandic word for 'hinge' is
_'ange_ or _hange_ (Dutch: _scharnier_).

In Low Saxon (Low German), 'hinge' (German _Scharnier_) is _Häng_ ~
_Heng_ [hE.N] (feminine, plural _Hängen_ ~ _Hengen_ [hE.N:]).
