Moin Dan, moin Lowlanders,
I immensely enjoyed the review.
Considering the examples you reviewed and others world-wide,
through the ages, the common denominator appears to be:
As long as a language is placed in a secondary position
in the
- media,
- schools
- and/or administration,
its long-term survival (as a spoken communication language)
is impossible.
Its as sad and simple as that.

Moin Gabriele, moin to you all,
My belated* thanks to you, Gabriele for your travel
report. You wrote (a.o.):

It´s not the money, it´s the political will. The undeclared goal is to snuff
out the vernaculars, because they are viewed as a bother rather than a
treasure.
*health problems prevent me from following the LL-L postings systematically.
