Hi Fiete and all,

there is a rather well-known song, recorded by Hannes Wader on his
"Plattdeutsche Lieder" album, for example, called "Trina, kumm mal vör
de
döör". It's about a youg man who would like to visit his girlfriend, but
unfortunately the house is locked. So, in the third verse, she tells
him:
"Tööf, ik will de Ledder hal'n, de an'n Hauböhn steiht...". How she can
get
the ladder if the house is locked is beyond me, but she does anyway.
Alas,
the young man ends up losing his pants when her mother catches them in
the
act... so it is a very sad song indeed.

But there's your "teuven" ("tööf") right there: "Wait, I'll get the
ladder...".
