Dear Lowlanders
I have another simple question regarding grammatical gender. I recently
acquired a copy of Kramer's Nederlands Engels/Engels Nederlands
woordenboek.
In it, there is a distinction between masculine, feminine, and neutral
genders. In other places I have only seen a distinction between common
(a
merging of former masculine and feminine genders), and neuter, or as it
is
more simply put 'de' words and 'het' words. Is the distinction between
masculine and feminine genders still relevant in the Dutch language
today,
and if so, how?
