All,

Some of you, particularly those in the UK and Ireland and in the Chicago
area, will have heard of the arrest of Stan Mallon, who was working with
the Ulster-Scots Agency, in Illinois.

As the charges are extremely serious, I should clarify absolutely that
Mr
Mallon had no previous knowledge or experience of Ulster Scots issues
and
was not at all associated with any Ulster Scots interest groups. Reports
that he was an 'Ulster Scots expert' or 'Ulster Scots advisor' are
utterly
careless and completely inaccurate. He was merely an individual working
within the Agency as a public servant on a temporary basis.
