Hello Elsie, Ron, Frans and all the others !
In Eastern Friesland we use a word with a nearly similar meaning
to "kukeluren" but in contrary to this it depends on listening rather
than
looking (luren = EF to look, to look for, to wait for, to hope for
etc.).
This word is "lunko:ren" (to make long ears) meaning: to spy, to listen
secretly etc.
