Annette, it was not clear to whom your remarks were addressed, but your
characterization of Canadian speech reminds me of the old Bob Hope joke
about being in a restaurant in [name that country other than your own] and
cleared his throat and the waitress slapped him.

I'll pass your remarks on to my wife, who will be most amused.

Regarding your remark about Americanisms, I'm not sure what you mean by
this, since "Canadian" is an American accent group, not a "British" one, as
some erroneously assume.  While some here may characterize some US
pronunciations as "different" or perhaps "strange" to the Canadian ear, but
"evil"?  I hardly think so.
