I agree with Sandy in his assessment. By intonation and pronunciation
I`d definately say the south-western English dialects are most similar.
Don`t know about vocabulary.
The gender distinction is similar to the south-western dialects also. I
read an article about that years ago, but I`d have to dig it up and
plough through it again to give an accurate summary.
