Foi ao mesmo tempo uma alegria e uma tristeza descobrir este site.Alegria
simplesmente pelo fato de encontar informação desse nível em português, algo
um tanto quanto insólito na Internet.E tristeza por não poder usufruir de
todo o potencial que os colaboradores aparentam ter, posto que boa parte da
página ainda está em construção.
   Não creio ser útil quanto ao desenvolvimento do site, mas gostaria de
deixar meus cumprimentos e o desejo de ver o trabalho de vocês finalizado em
um futuro breve.

P.S.vocês pretendem estudar toda a família germânica ou somente as línguas
que já constam na página?

Caro Luciano,
   Obrigado para sua mensagem a respeito de nossa apresentação intitulada
“Lowlands Talk” (http://www.lowlands-l.net/talk/).  Eu aprecio seu
interesse em nosso projeto e sua ânsia a respeito da finalizasão das
traduções portuguêsas.
   Um dos objetivos principais de Lowlands-L é construir pontes -- pontes
entre os povos que falam, lidos, escrevem e aprendem as idiomas germanicas
das Terras Baixas -- pontes para povoar quem falam, lido, escrevem e
aprendem as outras idiomas germânicas -- pontes ao mundo inteiro,
incluindo aos povos que falam português.
   O foco principal de Lowlands-L é confinado às variedades lingüísticas
germânicas das Terras Baixas. Outras organizações discutem todas as
idiomas germânicas ou concentram-no em outros menores grupos lingüísticos
dentro deste grupo.
   O projeto confia no trabalho de poucos ajudantes voluntários.
Conseqüentemente o progresso é relativamente lento.  Por favor seja
paciente e periòdicamente visitará “Lowlands Talk” para prestar atenção ao
progresso do projeto.

It was with both joy and sadness that I discovered this site. Joy simply for
the fact that I came across information on this level in Portuguese,
something that is uncommon on the Internet. And sadness about you not being
able to utilize all of the potential that the collaborators appear to have,
so that a good part of the page is still under construction.
   I do not believe I can be useful at all to the development of the site,
but I would like to send you my compliments and express my desire to see
your work finished in the near future

P.S.: Do you intend to study the entire Germanic family or only the

Dear Luciano,

Thank you for your message regarding our presentation entitled “Lowlands
Talk” (http://www.lowlands-l.net/talk/).  I appreciate your interest in our
project and your eagerness regarding the completion of the Portuguese
translations.
   One of the main goals of Lowlands-L is to build bridges -- bridges
between people who speak, read, write and learn the Germanic languages of
the Lowlands -- bridges to people who speak, read, write and learn the other
Germanic languages -- bridges to the whole world, including to people who
speak Portuguese.
   The main focus of Lowlands-L is confined to the Germanic language
varieties of the Lowlands.  Other organizations discuss all Germanic
varieties or focus on other smaller linguistic branches.
   The project relies on the work of few volunteer helpers.  Consequently,
progress is relatively slow.  Please be patient and visit “Lowlands Talk”
periodically in order to follow the project’s progress.
