Dag Klaus,

In't West-Vlaams is  de vogel bekend als een "notenkraker". Maar we
hebben een andere vogel, de curruca garrula,  die we hagekodde /
hagekutte noemen. Kodde heeft bij ons ook de betekenis van knots of
piemel.
Een "koddesteirt"  is een afgeknotte staart van een hond of een varken.
Een leuk detail, fonteinen die wijn plassen.
N. Despars schrijft in zijn boek ,  Cronijcke van de lande ende
graefscepe van Vlaenderen, Brugge 1840 :
Ten anderen cant stont een zotkin, pissende deurgaens goeden rijnschen
wijn; ende up die derde cant was een wildemannekin  van genter taylgie,
uit wiens codde insgelijcx ooc continuelick rooden wijn sproot, telcx
behouve.
Iets anders; koddevinne = een slecht mens
Hagekodde wordt ook gebruikt voor lichtekooi (hoer).
