Dag Denis (en al de rest)

Ik denk dat het West-Vlaamse woord " (zich) jeunen" iets van doen
heeft met het werkwoord "gunnen" (E: grant). Er bestaat ook het
woordje "junste" dat eigenlijk "gunst" (E: favour) betekent.
Wellicht ben je ook vertrouwd met het volksliedje: Ik jeune mi daarin,
ik jeune mi daaran, dat ik een liedeke mag zingen. Ik jeune mi daarin,
ik jeune mi daaran, dat ik het liedeke kan!

Ik jeunde mi met dit schrijven.
