"Part of the problem may well be related to us shifting to a different
site and email account. Things have been rather transitional and
makeshift lately. I have been using an email program that is a little
temperamental. If I choose Unicode encoding and then copy and paste
something from a submission someone has sent in Western or another mode,
the message I send sometimes defaults to that other encoding mode. This
is probably not the only source of your troubles, Wim, but it could be
contributing to it. I can just ask everyone to bear with us until we
have well and truly moved into our new home. So, if you find the
encoding of a message strage, try a different encoding mode or character
set (usually under "View")."
The strange thing is, that when I read Wim's message in Webmail instead
of
Outlook, all the characters displayed correctly, without having to
specify
the coding (which *was* required in the past...).

Mathieu

Interesting also that in our archives
(http://listserv.linguistlist.org/archives/lowlands-l.html) all messages
are displayed correctly, defaulted to Unicode.
Cheers!
