"Gjan" in Southern West-Limbuegish (Lonerlands of Haspengouw).
It follows (often) the transformation "vowel +r" --> "j + vowel":
kers -> kjoës
Kersmis --> Kjoeësmis
aarde --> jaat
graag, gaarne --> gjan
Hern (naam van een gemeente) --> Jaan
kern (pit in appel) --> kjaan
vers --> vjoeës
vorst (van het dak) --> also: vjoeës

vier --> vier, but
veertien --> vjottein
veertig --> fjottich
vierhonderd --> vier hondert

Exceptionally also, I think, when r preceeds the vowel:
(ver)branden (werkwoord) --> (ver)bjanne
(though in English it comes with vowel +r:: burn)
Particular is also bron --> boeën since both "born" and "bron" appear in
written toponomy.

The rule is not always valid though:
vowel+rst --> may give loss of r (and t), but no j
korst (van het brood) --> koos
borst --> boos

Just some words passing my mind.
Obviously the presentation above is incorrect in a sense that it present
things as if Limburgish developped as a mutilitation of standard Dutch.
