Beste Ron en Sandy,

Very interesting topic this discussion of Latinate language. I'd love to
see somebody compare legal code in for example the UK, Belgium, the
Netherlands and Germany. This is one field where wording is very
essential. Even though laws are meant to be applied on human beings,
here in Belgium, the sheer length of words and phrases is absolutely
meant to scare people away. To my knowledge, very little effort (or none
at all) has ever been made to keep wording to a minimum. Redundancy
primarily benefits the employment of legal advisers; it seems to me *s*.
I guess this reflects mental laziness, because I still believe in "In
der Beschränkung zeigt sich erst der Meister" (Goethe).

So I'd better stop here *s*.
