Well, Cuxhaven is a town at the estuary of Elbe river, name first
mentioned  c. 1570 as Kuckshaven, 1577 Kuxhaven, 1643 Kogeshagen. Name
for the place at the estuary of Ritzebuetteler Schleusenpriel (tidal
creek of Ritzebuettel, today Ritzebuettel is a part of Cuxhaven).
Perhaps related to "Koogshafen", harbour of a Koog (Ron???).
So there is no relation to Cox, (but if Cox is related to Koog ...)

myn haimaat.

That would be *_Koogshaven_ (_haven_ 'harbor', 'port' with /v/ -> [v] ~ [b]
(< Old Saxon <ƀ>): ['hQ:v=m] ~ ['h@:b=m], vs. German _Hafen_ ['ha:f at n).

<Koog> (_koug_ [k_hoUx], masc., pl. _kougen_ ['k_hoUg=N]) seems to be
specific to the Lowlands Saxon (Low German) dialects of Holstein.  It
denotes marshland that has been reclaimed by means of drainage and dikes.
(I wonder if this term stems from a regional Frisian substrate.)
