Bill asked about publishing in and about minority languages. The EC funds an
initiative on what it calls "lesser-used languages" which produces a
newsletter. I think you may have to pay for it now, which is why I don't get
it any longer. The Bureau is based in Dublin. I remember something about
publishing for children a few years ago. This is quite a problem because of
short print-runs and there has been some talk of cooperation to spread the
costs of things like illustrations over a large volume. It seems to me that
there should be dialogue with people interested in providing books for
immigrant children (eg Asians in the UK, Arabic speakers in France) because
there would appear to be shared problems but the two interest groups are
worlds apart.

The dropping of final "n" in Dutch is a regional thing so there isn't a
single answer.
