Man, what a time of year to be wading around in the Atlantic Ocean in
Massachusetts! By the way, the history I learned in elementary school said
that the Pilgrims had first spent some time (a few years, I think) in
Holland before going to the New World. One reason they decided to leave
Holland was that their children were adopting Dutch customs and language.
Is there any evidence that Dutch had an impact on the language they used in
the New World?
