Dag almal,

Dankie vir die inligting uit Ons Erfdeel, Roger.

Ja, ek vind die aanname ook onnosel dat "all influence came from Dutch
before 1925 and from Afrikaans after 1925".

Etimologiese navorsing dui daarop dat sekere vorme al lank reeds voor 1800
Afrikaans en nie meer Nederlands was nie, soos bv. plaats > plaas (farm) as
ook tipies Afrikaanse grammatiese vorme soos 'is' wat 'hebben' en 'zijn'
deur Trichardt in sy Dagboek verwar is. Die Grensboere se Afrikaanse
woordeskat het al voor die Groot Trek (1838) 'n invloed uitgeoefen op
Oos-Kaapse Xhosa en op Zulu na 1860.
