Well, sorry for not voting - it closed on Tuesday but I only got home from a
long weekend away on Wednesday! I would have voted The Wren, which seems to
me to be a proper story compared to the North Wind and the Sun, which is
more of an anecdote, so all's well.

I'd very much like to do a Scots audio version of The Wren, but what do I
need and what do I do? I know I need a friend to help me to make sure my
volume level is right and there's no dogs barking or helicopters flying past
(as is always happening where I live) that I'm unaware of - actually,
probably the biggest problem will be me rustling the paper without realising
it! but I'm not sure if anyone I know knows any more than me about making
good recordings for computers.

Hey, Sandy, ma auld fiere!

Good to see you back!  Hope you had a good, gothic time.

Talking about "gothic," don't forget to write a brief anniversary blurb
(with picture?) as one of the main movers and shakers.  Yes, it's fine to
write it in Scots (with an English translation), and, yes, it's fine to make
it spooky, gothic, whacky, tongue in cheek, whatever ... Be yourself!  It's
also fine to advertise your non-commercial passions (such as ScotsText, with
link), and that goes for everyone.

As for your recording, in case you can't get anyone to help you in person,
how about doing a test late at night (when it's supposedly less noisy
outside) and send it to Henry, Mathieu and me so we can check it out and
give you advice if something needs changing?
