_Der Hauptmann von Koepenick_ was a satire on Prussian regimentation and
militarism. I hope Germans really haven't forgotten that.

Why should a particular part of German history be off-limits? Even if it
only lasted 10-12 years? I find "only" a difficult word to apply to Nazism.

I repeat that it seems to me that the reference was to being authoritative,
not to doing those things for which the Nazis are rather more famous. I
still believe strongly that Ron should not have made an issue of this.
Please don't press me to say more.
