No, I didn't make that up (I know of only person on this forum who makes up
"old folk sayings", like those involving small rodents and oversized deer).
It was an inscription I saw in a pub in Holland (in Leiden, I believe) more
than twenty years ago. I googled it to get the spelling right, because all I
remembered was the odd spelling of the word "katuule". Here's where I found
it, if that helps. I wouldn't know which dialect this is, though.

But, speaking of Leiden and dialects: is it really true, as I was told
repeatedly, that four different dialects exist in the city of Leiden alone?
