LLs: I suppose bureaucrats can tear down offending signs. If at all they
really are,
that's offensive. But they can not restrict and control the spoken word.
Where would English be if linguistic expurgation started, say, in 900AD?
I know, it surely would not have developed into the enriched language it
is now.
