Ik heb me eens laten vertellen dat in het Zuid-Oostelijke deel van
(Nederlands) Limburg nog dialecten worden gesproken die meer Frankish zijn
dan Duits? Is dat zo? En hoe zijn die te onderscheiden van de andere
dialecten? Jacqueline.

Hallo Ron,

Goed dat je me de vraag stelt over de coëxistentie van "ook" en "ich". Alle
woorden met -ch zijn niet overal even ver verspreid geraakt. Dich, bv. is
duidelijk blijven steken in Limburg en is niet verder opgerukt naar het
westen (West-Limburg en Oost-Brabant). "Ook" is wel een geval apart. In
Zuid-oost-Brabant (het zgn. Getelands) wordt "och" gezegd. In Diest
daarentegen is het niet doorgedrongen. Als ik me niet vergis, wordt daar
"ok" gezegd. Diesters hoort overigens niet tot het Getelands.

Nogmaals bedankt, Roger.

In dat geval schijnt het een continuum te zijn, in welke "ik" en "ook"
afzonderlijke isoglossen hebben (in tegenstelling tot beiden als delen van
het _-ch_ isogloss). Wat denkt jij en andere Laaglanders erover?

I would like to add:
- "Südniederfränkisch" in German corresponds with "Oostnederfrankisch" in
Dutch (cf. Goossens)
- The little stain below Kleve coresponds to the villages of the "Pfalz"
(forced immigration by the Prussians in the 19th century)
