I've heard something like that from Canadian English speakers as well. Day
being realised as 'dee' in daynames, anyway.

I seem to recall hearing it from a teacher of the sort who would say, "We're
Mundy today. You only have three more days, Toozdy, Wenzdy, Thurzdy."
