Probably related to Dutch "luwte", West Frisian "lijte", places
sheltered from wind: "het ligt in de luwte",
or "it leit yn 'e lijte". Not as a verv though AFAIR.
>> *Fent* HG: Geck
> E: dude, dandy
Related to Dutch "vent" : 'guy', and West Frisian "feint" 'farm hand,
boy friend'.
Seelter Frisian has "Fent" as well, as well as Dutch Low Saxon
varieties.

Nett as Ron dat al seggt hett: Dat is in Oostfreesland 'n heel normal
Woord för "junge Mann". So normal, dat dat ok in't Hoogdüütske seggt word.

Raav of Roov in't Oostfreeske. (Byl/Brückmann: Ostfr. Wörterbuch).
