Jim, that's very interesting.
My family has that (ham, potato casserole, greenbeans...) every Easter, yet
to the best of my knowledge we are not of Low German origin, nor are we
Mennonite.
Interestingly enough, I don't think we got the tradition from anywhere in
particular since my mom always cooks for Easter, and she's Jewish. (so I am
too, I guess, but we still celebrate Easter.)

How very American! I know several families like that here. It's all about
choices and enrichment.
So, do you also get the occasional מאכל _meykhl_ on Jewish holidays as well?
Passover is coming up shortly, beginning on April 25!
