My mother used to say something similar: "Fernsehen willst du? Ich geb' dir
gleich Fernsehen, und zwar hinten drauf!". "Du möchtest ein Eis? Ich geb'
dir gleich ein Eis, und zwar hinten drauf." ("You want to watch TV/eat ice
cream? I'll give you TV/ice cream, on your behind!"). Sometimes she wouldn't
specify just where she would give us ten more minutes/a party/a bouquet/a
great invention, but we knew anyway.
