Thanks so much, Helga & Ron: You are surely aware I am a sucker for the
quiet (to outsiders) history of that region, bourne of my forefathers, and
equally so for less articulate (but blood-stirring) reasons, Frisian &
Saxon.

Psss... Mark, dis maar gou gefluister tussen ons: die naam is "Helge", met
'n "e" aan die einde, en dis 'n man se naam, die ekwiwalent van Helga, wat
'n vroumens se naam is.
En die historiese aspekte?

Weens die Sweedse ("Rus") aristokratie van Ou Rusland is hierdie "Helge" in
Russies Олег (Oleg) en hierdie "Helga" in Russies Ольга (Ol'ga) geword.

Enige jare gelede het ek gemeen dat ons Sandy Fleming 'n vroumens is ...
omdat ik tot dan net vroumense met die naam geken het (< Sandra <
Alexandra). Maar ons baie manlike Sandy het my vergeef, en dan het ons egter
baie heerlik Tango gedans toe die band die oue, liewe wysie "Orthography"
gespeel het ... (Ag, die herinneringe!) Ek het ook gemeen dat ons Floor 'n
vroumens is, en dit is ook verkeerd gewees.
Nee, liewe Mark, je is hier nie die enigste nie.
