Thanks for the replies, Ingmar and Ron/Reinhard

I know they like foreign accents*, some of them at least, and I haven't got 
any naughty remarks yet, so that's not the problem, the problem is only in 
my head indeed :)
My original plan was to speak AN (in pronounciation; Belgian AN that is, not 
Hollandic with ee = ej, ij = ijj etc) with a slight layer of Brabantish over 
it, like the gij, -ke etc, but the funny thing is that these disappear more 
quickly, while the pronunciation is more difficult to adapt.
Usually it's neither B./Ant. nor AN., but something totally weird that I 
didn't even intend to produce.

*that seems to be more widespread, Americans also like the way we (I) 
pronounce my English ;)

Anyway, I'll try to make up my mind of what's where I want to go. One good 
thing at least: 2 days back with my family and I still speak as normal as I 
did, say, 2 or 3 weeks ago. But if my sisters (they tend to do these naughty 
things quite often!) continue to address me with too much "jou"s and the 
like, I won't be as easy anymore as before >=)

In addition to "the Dutch thinking of our accent as pleasant" (or something 
like that) thingy, mentioned earlier by Ingmar:

I have to disappoint the Dutchies then because we here think of their accent 
to be horrible and sometimes it even feels hostile to us :/ (which may also 
explain the very sick feeling I had lately)

P.S. in my group I have two Dutch West-Brabanders (not so distant from me), 
they speak with a softer accent but still, I can't hear anything really 
Brabantish in it anymore (maybe because they adapt themselves too, of 
course, don't know how they speak with their family). The only thing is that 
I heard the word schoon (pronounced srrrown or something ;)) instead of 
mooi, one time, but then he "corrected" himself - although that use of 
schoon is also standard Dutch, but officially spoken it belongs to a more 
formal register.
