1) "hoofd" wordt soms in Oostende "bolle" genoemd; stikt dad in joen bolle:
prent dit in je hoofd.
2) Het rijtje n.a.v. kjaas enz. in 't Oostends:
kers:   kêze
kaars: kêse
vers: vasjhe
vaars: vêze
laars: lêze
3) dwars: twêns, van twênstn;
e twênsdriever: een dwarsdrijver
4) noes: schuin; sommigen zeggen: oes;
noesjhn: schuin aflopen, hellen,
veroesjhamern: verwaarlozen; uit: ver oesjh hamern: d.i. schuin of scheef
hameren.
Ter informatie: het schuine onderste deel van een dak dat rust op balkjes
heet "de deuzienge"; ik vermoed uit
"de euzienge".
5) bij "polle" heb ik even gedacht aan "polder" (uit ouder "poller") en ook
aan de "bolder" op de kade (in het Oostends "bolloard").
6) vaak ging het over Zuid-Afrikaanse purismen; welnu hier dan een plezant
neologisme uit Oostende:
luiewuuvefrietn: diepvriesfrietjes (die moeten dus thuis niet gesneden
worden).
Toetnoasteki én stél et junder wêl.

You will probably have noticed that 'tries' is quite close to 'te griest'
(Getelands) and 'grieks' 'Tessenderlo).

  Aren't there two words?

  divers with accent on 1st syllable = di' vers almost like the people
  who go under water!!
  and di- verse where the accent fall on the second and the 's' is more
  sounded

  divers = various, a multiplicity of ...., many

  diverse = various but in the sense of different, at variance to each other

I always thought "divers" was just an archaic spelling of "diverse" -  and 
both had stress on the second syllable. HOWEVER....looking in the Oxford 
Dictionary, it seems you're right, both regards meaning and stress. 
"Divers" is given as "chiefly archaic or poetic".

I have to agree: _hamm_ very often is synonymous for a place, sorrounded by 
water. But Ron's explanations are as good and as frequent (or even morer).
