In the Netherlands 'Nomen' and 'Noomen' and 'Nome' is not rare. Don't worry about
things being either Belgian or Dutch. Belgium and the Netherlands share many
important cultural and historical things; for many years they were one country.

In any case, your surname is not your average Afrikaans surname either. No
Bruwer, Scholtz, Du Plessis, Botha, Conradie, Jansen or Van Jaarsveld.
