Lieve Laglanners,
 
I would like to thank all of you who expressed (or even just thought about)
condolences at the passing of my mother, Alice Myrtle Ashley Jones.
 
Especially, I would like to thank you for the lovely translations of my poem for
her, into Scots, Low Saxon, Fries, Nederlands, Hochdeutsch, Gothic, and several
varieties of English.
 
Each one of them was more beautiful and touching than the others!
 
Also, those of you who submitted poems you had written on the death of a close
family member provided me with a real comfort. There is a wealth of powerful
imagery in your verses, and I appreciated your sharing them with LL-L list
members and myself.
 
Y'all er good folks.
