There is a Norwegian/Danish dish served on fishing boats (and in my house a 
boy, by my former norsk maritime officer grandfather) called something like 
"lobs-skos", a mish mash of potatoes and shredded meat and seasoning. I 
wonder if that is related.

Not that we can't dicuss this in more detail, but let me tell you that we
