Folks,
(1)
For some strange reason I missed the new that last August the movie "Beowulf
and Grendel" was launched: http://www.beowulfandgrendel.com/ . The director
is Sturla Gunnarson of Iceland. The screenwriter is Andrew Rai Berzins, a
Scottish-Latvian Canadian. The cast seems to be primarily Icelandic and
Canadian. So far the movie has been featured at two Canadian and one U.S.
festival and will be so next in Florida, at the Sarasota Film Festival in
April. On March 1 it was screened at the Varsity Theatre in Toronto. The
theatrical release will be on March 10 in Canada.

Those of you who are interested in pre-Christian Germanic things might like
to check out the site of the Old Saxon belief, culture and language
organization Sahsisk Thiod: http://sahsisk.org/ . They linked to the Old
Saxon page
(http://www.lowlands-l.net/anniversary/index.php?page=oldsaxon) of our
Anniversary Site (http://www.lowlands-l.net/anniversary/).
(3)
You may want to check out the website of the Germanic Lexicon Project which
seeks to make available all sorts of literary and linguistic
material(http://www.ling.upenn.edu/~kurisuto/germanic/language_resources.html)
Regards,
Reinhard/Ron
