Subject: Anniversary
Dear Lowlanders,
In case some of you have forgotten, I need to remind you that our anniversary
project is still alive and waiting for your help.
http://www.lowlands-l.net/anniversary/
Translations, audio files, personal introductions, comments, suggestions ... All
those are most welcome.
I have introduced a new feature: a introduction ("honoring") of a remarkable
contributor who is not a Lowlands-L member. It is interesting (hopefully) and is
good PR. My first "victim" is Dante Ferry of Manila who has been very generous
and kind and has been supplying us with translations into various languages of
the Philippines. He is still at it, and translations into Filipino English and
into the Spanish-based Filipino creole Chavaqueño may still be forthcoming. To
see what I mean what this feature, please visit Dante's page:
http://www.lowlands-l.net/anniversary/feature_dante.php
I encourage you to follow suit, particularly those among you who have been acting
as recruiters and facilitators. Your articles don't have to be as long and
"bombastic." But please make sure it is all right with the persons you write
about. You may write them in languages other than English, but at least an
English summary would be nice. (If you need help with your English it will be
available.) You may write about groups of people as well. Examples are the two
father-and-daughter teams Chakmakian (Armenian) and Soysal (Turkish, Crimean),
the Radyu Kottoner 98FM team that translated and recorded the Maltese version,
and of course our Ingmar's Achterhoek Low Saxon team consisting of his wife and
grandmother.
Please send any contributions to me.
Thanks in advance.
Reinhard/Ron
