Iemand genoemde Mark Dreyer het geskryf:

Ja'aa, klets is darem 'n mooi onderwerp.
Wie is eintlik Mark Dreyer? Nie dalk diЙ gawe dapper soldaat wat ek in my
verlede leef geken het nie?
DiЙ vir wie ek onlangs die klok buite die Sjintotempel in Tokio gelui het?
Of 'n naamgenoot?
Toe-toe!
Maar tog, verbeel ek my ek het eens 'n brons-geurige, sepia-vormige en
ys-smakende geklok daaar in die ge-Ooste gewaar, in my siel se gewandelende
hardepad, wat my dalk terug Aarde toe geroep het.
> Mnr. Dreyer, as u diЙ Mark Dreyer is, kan u geОnteresser wees dat
ek 'n snaakse vakwoordeboek van die Pretoria se biblioteek gesteel en
gedigitiseer het, en ek het dit reg op my komper ;-)
Nouja, ek is maar 'n nuuskierige agie, vertel my tog.
> Just take a look at the calendar and remember
With a male of the party's apprehension about dates, you know... I ask with
a measure of trepidation, "What date?"
> This doesn't apply here;-)
I'm so glad, or should that be relieved, but share it anyhow, before my wife
returns from Jo'burg.
Between you & me & the gatepost we seem to have coms five out of five with &
or through L-Lowlands now, so let's give it a work-out.
& I DO want to know what vakwoordeboek you've roggeled. By the way, an aside
also to Ron, this word 'roggel' like 'smous' is another of the words that
have passed into Afrikaans through Yiddish from Hebrew. There it means
'peddled', or as we would say in Afrikaans, 'gesmous'. In the 'Taal',
'geroggel' has acquired a rather less - well - innocent context, like
'organised' or 'commandeered'. So, come on out of it, Vlad - what have you
commandeered?
Die Uwe,
Mark
