No, there's another animal closely associated with the devil who has yellow
eyes: a goat! I think that's why he's supposed to have yellow eyes.

Sorry, Jonny.  Somehow this went by me.

What I find particularly interesting in the mentioned group of words is that
there are signs of the existence of very early associations of "bright
(color)," "shiny" and "strident (noise)."

Gabriele, I totally agree with you regarding the devil and goat thing.
