This just came through Taalpost, quite a hallucinating story.

*3. Extra: Eric en het Leger van de Feniks

*Enkele jaren geleden schreef de veertienjarige Catalaan Eric Bertran een
brief naar enkele Spaanse bedrijven met de vraag of deze hun websites en
producten niet ook in het Catalaans wilden aanbieden. Omdat Eric een fan is
van Harry Potter, ondertekende hij met 'Eric en het Leger van de Feniks',
naar een van de boektitels van de Potterreeks. Enkele dagen later stormden
twintig Spaanse politieagenten het huis van de familie Bertran binnen, op
zoek naar bewijzen van terrorisme. Over de jarenlange strijd die volgde
tussen de jonge Catalaan en de Spaanse overheid is een documentaire gemaakt,
die in zijn geheel te zien is op de videowebsite YouTube.

Hi, Diederik!

It's great to hear from you again.

Hey! That YouTube video is absolutely fascinating. Thanks for the tip. I
strongly recommend that everyone watch it (all four parts of it, in Catalan
with English subtitles) and be reminded that language preservation, loyalty
and assertion is not just a frivolous hobby thing, that it still is a thorn
in the side of many countries, especially in Europe.

(I have a mental picture of our Mike Wintzer hopping with excitement while
watching the video.)
