I think the neutral pronoun a fine idea. Only "yo" doesn't sound pretty. Or
is the "need" for such a neutral pronoun artificial?

I must say that after all these years in an English speaking country, I
still occasionally feel the need for a second person plural. In Dutch there
are the two forms. But if you are speaking to a crowd you may use the second
person single as long as you have made it clear that you are addressing more
than one person. At that moment it becomes as if you are addressing
everybody in the crowd personally.

F.i. Gaan jullie maar gezellig in de tuin zitten, je mag natuurlijk best
eerst een drankje halen in de huiskamer.
