Totally agree. This phenomenon is what we call "taalparticularisme" in Dutch
(like Petrus wrote earlier on). Pampering your baby just a tad too much.
It's good to cherish your native dialect but one should always keep things
in balance and perspective I think. No man is an island, and neither is any
language *s*.
