Watse verspringing van die _r_ bedoel jy? Ek sien wel 'n ekstra _r_, as
laaste letter in _surtr_. Maar dit is bloot 'n woordeinde in Oudnoorse
selfstandige naamwoorde. Dit stam af van die Oergermaanse -z: kuningr <
kuningaz

In die huidige Yslands kom dit ook orals voor, maar as -ur.

Dit maak die woord substantief: surt = swart; surtr = die swarte.
