Most English speakers, if they use the construction "half-three", mean 3:30,
not 2:30 as in German or Afrikaans.  This is a common early confusion when
learning; I got a parking ticket in Pretoria because the traffic cop told me
I could park there till "half ses", and I left my car till six, thinking I
still had half an hour to go.  I should have read the signs I guess.
